Gadgetology

Nokia 3650 handsetEverybody, meet my new cell phone.

In fairness, Tim can call me a day late and a dollar short on this; he's owned the AT&T version of this phone for over a year. Still, a cash infusion thanks to a boomlet of projects has allowed me to splurge a bit — so a year late or no, you can color me tickled pink.

Of course, my friend Elliott Baer of Georgia for Wesley Clark brought me down a peg the other night by showing off his new Treo 600. It's the phone that all the cool kids sport nowadays. Now that'sa phone worth drooling over — but it comes at a supersteep price. When PalmOne makes a smartphone for $250, they can get back to me.

’Til then, my new toy and I should get along just fine. I've already fiddled with the camera feature — and beyond that, it feels great just to have a phone that doesn't lose brand-new voicemail messages or cut out in mid-ring when I get an important call. So raise a toast to that — and who knows, if I feel like it, I may get a friend to snap a headshot so you can see what I look like. [No? Okay, I can spare you the agony. =) ]

Eh...most cool kids nowadays have the Motorola flip phones. You would look like a dork with one of those big Treos.
